Beacon Bingo Margate

About

This club is now closed, however, the information will stay up for historical purposes.

As a traditional British seaside resort, Margate is steeped in history and Beacon Bingo Margate has a big part to play in that just like its neighbours Dreamland. Situated right on the seafront at 36 Marine Terrace, Beacon Bingo is the oldest and proudest bingo hall in Margate. In fact, you have to go quite some distance to find another venue of this nature in the region.

Considering its seafront location, the club itself is huge with over 50 slots and arcade machines to play on in addition to the large and comfortable main hall. There is even a car park at the rear of the venue for those who choose to drive. For those travelling by public transport, simply take one of the many buses that stop along the main promenade with Marine Terrace being right outside the club. Bus routes 33, 34, 35, 36, 37, 932, 940, 943, 944 and 989 all stop here as well as the Breeze service. The train station is also just a short walk away.

The bingo itself runs from 11am to 11pm but the venue as a whole is open 24 hours each day, 7 days a week and there is a very friendly and buoyant atmosphere here thanks to the number of tourists that stop by for an unplanned game.

The prices are cheap and cheerful (but more on that later) and there are some top prizes on offer too.

You can almost never run out of things to do in Margate (especially on a sunny day) with the large stretch of sandy beach right opposite Beacon Bingo as well as Dreamland (which is a small theme park), the Marine Gardens and the Harbour all being in very close proximity to the club.

Opening Times

Beacon Margate is open 24/7 but the main bingo takes place during the usual afternoon and evening hours with all afternoon games starting at 1.30pm and all evening games starting at 7.30pm. In addition to the main games, there are also the National Game, Accumulator and Rainbows to be played.

The early sessions start 30 minutes prior to the times stated above.

Prices

The prices as we have already stated are very reasonable and this is a testament to the management here who manage to keep the place very busy during seasonal peaks.

Evening games are more expensive than the afternoon games with evening games ranging from £4 to £12 (Friday and Sunday being most expensive). Afternoon games range from £4 to £6 with Wednesday, Friday and Sunday being the cheapest. The early games provide some really good value as well as the national games – all of which are priced at either £1.50 or £2 and have some very big prize funds indeed!
